Overall, both anime share a similar dark theme as well as dialogue, plot, and sense of camaraderie between teammates who are struggling through a dark period in time. The character is able to utilize this to fight for the greater good of humanity as well as to accomplish their personal goals.īoth anime also contain unique and powerful weapons, which are tailored for the fighting styles and personalities of the characters who possess them. In both of these anime, the main character undergoes a sudden yet unsettlingly dark tragedy. The biggest difference I have to highlight would be the Magical medieval part for Akame ga Kill, and the futuristic sci-fi part for Akudama Drive. * Setting is futuristic Japan, specifically the regions of Kansai and Kanto. * Akudama Drive is a sci-fi action show about doing something criminals. * Every character has a special magical weapon. * Setting is something close to medieval. * Akame ga Kill! is a fantasy action show about rebelling against the capital. Of course you get to see how the MC becomes a key member who will do something heroics. :: During the episodes you get to see some gore fight scenes and comedy interactions between group members. And hate to say, but both lack character development except for the MC. Each character of the bad guys have their own personality, some you like and some you dislike. You get to know their so-called abilities/skills and some silly motives. :: Both MC live their normal lives until they encounter the bad guys. This recommendation itself is actually a spoiler. The Holy Knights of Nanatsu no Taizai and the Capital Government of Akame ga Kill are supposed to be the ones enforcing the law and safekeeping the peace, but, it turns out they're actually the root and source of all problems. There's no such thing as absolute good or absolute evil, there's always more than one side to everything. They have super powers and abilities and the fighting scenes are spectacular. The characters are very well developed and intense in both animes. Tons of bloody awesome violence and action, at odd points characters become romantically driven. Both shows are set in a medieval setting with knights and the use of magic. Both anime are about a group of vigilantes fighting against the corrupt governement. The story for both shows start out slow but eventually get super interesting and you'll be glued to your seat wanting more. Good guys, bad guys they are all awesome! Both shows have a giant cast with lots of fighting and violence. Both sets of main characters are seen as the villains of the world, when in fact, they are the ones who are keeping the peace and balance in the world. First we have the Seven Deadly Sins in Nanatsu no Taizai, then we have Night Raid in Akame ga Kill!
